ja sää"kiima" iskee. Sisään ei mennä sitten mistään hinnasta ja liikkeessä ollaan aamusta iltaan. Blogeissa onkin näkynyt listoja kesän tekemisille ja siitä inspiroituneena päätin listata myös omiani. Listasin sellaisia paikkoja, joihin kenellä vain on periaatteessa mahdollisuus mennä. Eli ei muuta kuin napatkaa farkut pyykkinarulta ja menoksi!
Free translation of Finnish saying goes; "Finnish summer is short but less snowy". Nevertheless, whether there is rain or shine for us Finns it is such a special time that we do our best to make the most out of it. Nightless nights inspire us and bring back to life and when the sun shines seat belts are fastened and the plane almost never comes to a complete stop. People won't go inside no matter what and we are on the go almost around the clock. In many blogs there have been ToDo-listings for summer and thought I would do the same. I listed places and things which would be possible for any one of us, at least if you happen to be in Southern Finland. So ready, steady, grab your jeans and GO!
SUMMER TO-DO-LIST:
1. Mustio Castle garden&museum - Haluan kovasti päästä maistamaan millaista ruokaa kehutusta keittiöstä saa. Would especially like to taste their recommended food.
2. Mustio Castle Theatre (only in Finnish though)
3. Fikars Village -Kaunis miljö ja käsityöläisputiikit sekä kahviloiden ja ravintoloiden maukkaat herkut. Kiinnostaa myös päästä maistamaan Ägräs Distilleryn tuotteita
Fiskars has a very beautiful milieu with several artisan shops to visit as well as cafés and restaurants. The latest comer there is Ägräs Distillery whose products I'm eager to taste.
4. Hvitträsk - Arkkitehtien Geselius, Saarinen ja Lindgren ainutlaatuinen kansallisromanttinen kotitalo ja miljö. Atelje home of architects Geselius, Saarinen and Lindgren.
5. Porvoo - Porvoon vanhankaupungin kesä ravintoloineen ja pikku putiikkeineen on aina vierailun arvoinen. Myös yöpyminen jossakin sympaattisista boutique hotelleista kiehtoisi. City of Porvoo has a picturesque old town with petit shops and restaurants and boutique hotels.
6. Turku - Turku kuuluu ehdottomiin suurempiin kesäkaupunkisuosikkeihini ja mielellään viipyisin siellä kesäisin ainakin yön yli ellen toisenkin, jotta ehtii varmasti nauttimaan mukavista ravintoloista ja yöelämästäkin. Turku is one of my favourite bigger summer cities. To get the most out of it it would be good to stay over night or perhaps two nights to enjoy its restaurants and bars.
7. Torikahvit Market Square coffee - Torikahvit aamulla tai päivällä Helsingin Kauppatorilla tai pienellä ja sympaattisella Töölöntorilla joka tapauksessa se on tehtävä. In the morning or during the day, nevertheless coffee or tea at a market square is a must and offer a great break to a hectic day. Do it in the main Helsinkimarket square Kauppatori or a enjoy local atmosphere in a smaller square in Töölö.
8.Uimastadion Swimming Stadium - Aamu-uinti tai vietä koko päivä legendaarisella simmiksellä kera paikallisten mammon ja pappojen. Go for a morning dip or spend the whole day. This is a local old school outdoor pool in the Helsinki with local grannies and grandpas.
9. Söderlångvik - Amos Andersonin kesähuvila, jossa on esillä hänen taidekokoelmansa. Amos Andersson was a cultural personality, newspaper publisher whose old summer villa is open to public with his broad art collection.
10. Picnic! - Olen aina halunnut toeuttaa picnicin, jossa on suuri filtti, tyynyjä ja eväskori täynnä herkkuja ja tietysti ystäviä. I've always wanted to organise a picninc with huge blanket, pillows, food basket full of treats and of course friends.
